The phrases "because" and "because of" are often used interchangeably, but they have slightly different meanings:

Because: It introduces a reason or explanation for something. For example, "She was late because she missed the bus."



Because of: This phrase is used to indicate the cause of something. For example, "He was upset because of the bad news."
